Iszkowska Zofia

Zofia Iszkowska (* 1911 Nowy Sącz- † 2000) – composer and teacher. She studied at the Conservatory of the Polish Music Society in Lviv with Helena Ottawowa (piano), and composition with Adam Sołtys. She also deepened her knowledge of composition with Kazimierz Sikorski in Łódź. From 1948, she was a member of the Polish Composers’ Union. Her compositional output includes orchestral works (including Symphony and Suite for small orchestra), chamber (string quartets, Sonatas for violin and piano, viola and piano, Prelude for violin and piano), piano pieces (Sonata, Variations, Etudes ) vocal-instrumental and songs to words by Polish poets Julian Tuwim or Leopold Staff.
