Holka Maria

Maria Holka (*5. August 1985 Warsaw-) composer of film, entertainment and theater music, lyricist, vocalist, pianist, musicologist. She created music for films such as: “Solidarity According to Women”, “What I Want”, “The First Day of Summer” and The Three Famous Ps. For the music for the latter, she received an award at the 3rd “Nowe Kino” Festival in Nowy Sącz. She has collaborated with many cultural institutions and publishing houses such as: Magnetic Records / Universal Music Polska, Zielona Sowa, Kalinowe Serce, Theater fur Niedersachsen (Hildesheim), Copernicus Science Center, Agora (musical setting of the R. Kapuściński Award for Literary Reportage). Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Member of ZAIKS, SAWP.

Together with Alek Baszun, she founded the band Retrospektakl. where they both create and perform songs. The debut album “Wino” was released in November 2018. In the band, Maria sings and plays the piano. In February, their second single and music video titled “Piesenka”.
