Załuska Ogińska Amelia

Amelia Załuska née Ogińska (* 1805 Zalesie- † 1858 Ischia), composer, painter, poet – daughter of the composer Michał Kleofas Ogiński.

Thanks to thorough education, she mastered the piano and acquired the basics of composition. Together with her husband, she founded a health resort in Iwonicz-Zdrój, being also its main designer. Her compositional legacy includes mainly piano pieces such as Polonaises, Mazurkas, Waltzes or Marsze, the series of miniatures “Echo Iwonicza”, as well as solo and choral songs often written for home celebrations.
