Waligórska – Siren Agnieszka

Agnieszka Waligórska Siren (* 19. IX .1942-) composer, graphic artist, multimedia artist, actress. She studied art history at the University of Warsaw. She also took a course at the Sorbonne devoted to French civilization. She was a researcher at the Institute of Art History of the Polish Academy of Sciences. She worked on the inventory of the collections at the Art Museum in Lincoln Center. In Finland, she studied electroacoustic music and composition. He currently lives and works in Helsinki. There he conducts research on the topic of radio history. He is also a curator of radio art festivals. Her works have been performed at many concerts and international composers’ festivals. The activity of Waligórska and her husband Pekka Siren (discography) is immortalized in the documentary entitled “The enchanted world of thanks”. As a composer, she has around 50 works in the field of electroacoustic music and musical theater. In his compositions, he uses, inter alia, sounds of nature. He uses comparisons and sound metaphors as well as connections with prehistoric art and mythological threads. The essence of her work is to create new sound spaces. In 1995, Waligórska was chosen the Artist of the Year by Airport in Finland. He is a member of the Helsinki Radio and TV Journalists Association.
