Kołodziejska-Lasota Danuta

Danuta Kołodziejska-Lasota (* May 26, 1922 Komsin near Czerwińska – † July 6, 1998 Warsaw) conductor, violinist, composer, teacher, social activist. She studied violin at the PWSM in Warsaw with prof. Józef Jarzębski and composition with Piotr Rytel. She studied conducting with Faustyna Kulczycki. In Poznań, she studied composition with Piotr Perkowski and conducting with Walerian Bierdiejew. She also completed conducting internships at the Philharmonic in Bucharest under the direction of Georg Georgescu and at the Berlin Komische Oper. She was a conductor of the symphony orchestra in Kielce, the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice and the Warsaw Chamber Opera. She has performed in Poland and abroad. In Warsaw, she founded a female chamber orchestra.

She was active in a foundation helping musically talented youth. For her activity, she received the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (1990).
