Jankowska Duchna

Duchna Jankowska (15th century), a composer dating back to the 15th century, aspiring to be the first registered Polish artist. However, there is some doubt as to whether she composed herself or was merely a copyist. The piece “Et in terra” to which she is attributed may have been written by a man named Antonio Zachar de Teramo. The original of the composition was burned down during the Warsaw Uprising. Only a photocopy has survived.
