Garr Isabelle

Garr Isabelle (* 4 January 1953 Wrocław-) composer, violist, pianist and conductor. She studied composition at the PWSM in Warsaw under the artistic supervision of Piotr Perkowski, Witold Rudziński and Tadeusz Baird, under whose supervision she obtained a diploma with distinction.

At the same university, she also studied conducting with Bohdan Wodiczko. She perfected her conducting skills at music seminars, including in Weimar with such masters as Kurt Masur.

From 1980, as a French government scholarship holder, she studied composition and analysis of a musical work with Ivo Malec and Jacques Castered at the Conservatoire Superieur de Musique in Paris. She is the winner of the first prize at the 21st Competition of Young Composers of the Polish Composers’ Union in Warsaw (1978) for “Sura I al fatiha opening”.

He has been a member of the Polish Composers’ Union since 1979. He currently lives and works in Paris.
