Mezer (de) Agata
Agata de Mezer (*28. V. 1965 Warsaw-)composer, educator, and cultural organizer. She graduated in composition from the Academy of Music in Warsaw under the supervision of Włodzimierz Kotoński. A Witold Lutosławski and Wingate Foundation scholarship holder, she studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Her work includes orchestral, chamber, choral, and tape compositions, as well as numerous choral arrangements and translations of Christmas carols and popular songs. She is also the author of songs for adults and children, including those for children’s English textbooks (publishers: Świat Książki; Prószyński i S-ka; WSiP).
From 1995 to 2014, she co-led the children’s ensemble 5.5 at preschool no. 55.
From 2016 to 2018, she led the Micherki ensemble operating at the library in the Pniewy commune. In 2024, she co-created music for the “Seasons with the Superchor” project organized by the Partnership for Education Foundation.
From 1996 to 1999, working with singer Anna Kurpińska, she performed her own songs at the Piwnica pod Baranami concert hall and during the Polish Culture Days in Athens (97, 98).
For 25 years, she was a chorister at the Warsaw Chamber Opera.
Currently, she works at the Willy Brandt Schule Academy of Music, at the MDK in Mokotów as a rhythmics instructor, and at other educational institutions in Warsaw and the surrounding area.
