Allinówna Stefania

Stefania Allinówna (* November 19, 1895 Łódź- † April 20, 1988 Warsaw) pianist, composer and teacher. She studied piano in Warsaw with Aleksander Michałowski and composition with Felicjan Szopski and Kazimierz Sikorski. She also continued her education in Berlin and Potsdam. From the early age of her youth, she also conducted concert activities, performing in Warsaw, Berlin and Prague. She has taken part in numerous symphonic and chamber concerts and radio broadcasts. Together with Władysława Markiewiczówna, she formed a piano duo with which she performed all over Poland.

In the period 1929-39 she was a piano lecturer at the University of Katowice. After the Warsaw Uprising, she was sent to Germany for forced labor. After the war, she worked in Wrocław and then at the State Higher School of Music in Katowice as a piano lecturer. In 1954, she was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
