Skalska-Szemioth Hanna

Hanna Skalska-Szemioth (Wanda) (* 1921 Warsaw – † 1964 Warsaw) Polish composer, wife of the writer, painter and author of texts, Kazimierz Szemioth.

She graduated in composition with Kazimierz Sikorski at the PWSM in Łódź. She worked in the Polish Radio (1953-1955), and then (1956-1958) as a teacher at the PSM im. F. Chopin in Warsaw. At the same time, she was the editor-in-chief of the journal Praca Świetlicowa. She is the author of orchestral, chamber and piano pieces, songs as well as dance and entertainment music.

Some of her popular songs were published by the publishing house “Śpiewamy i Tańczymy” in the years 1955-1958.
